Trailer 1 reveals Lucia, Vice City, and a 2025 window
Posted a day early after the trailer leaked online, Trailer 1 introduced Lucia, modern Vice City in the state of Leonida, and a "2025" window — and drew about 93 million YouTube views in 24 hours, a record for a non-music debut.
Trailer 1 was scheduled for December 5, 2023, but a leak forced Rockstar’s hand: the studio posted it a day early instead. The trailer introduced Lucia Caminos — the series’ first female lead since its top-down 2D games — a partner later confirmed as Jason Duval, a modern-day Vice City in the state of Leonida, and a “2025” window that would not survive. On YouTube it drew about 93 million views in its first 24 hours, at the time the biggest non-music video debut in the platform’s history.
